Amy is now with the Lord having battled cancer for almost five years. It is a mercy that during most of that time she could live life more normally than not. Her tolerance of treatments and ability to bounce back after numerous down-turns is a testament to a God given strength and will to provide for her family. Even when she had to quit working nine months ago, she kept house and did for her family. It is her testimony, that God prevails during such trying times. Her illness made life difficult, but she persevered, sometimes with disappointment, much of time in pain, but all the time with an admirable determination. Amy had a marvelous voice that was a gift from God. A gift many people never really knew about, but to her family her singing was such a joy. She had other talents as well. She discovered a joy doing crafts and art, making wall hangings and picture boxes out of old windows, discarded drawers, and lonely scraps of wood. She loved her work and having her own cleaning business. It gave her pleasure to know she had done a great job and had satisfied her customers. She is survived by her husband of 9 years, Jose Antonio, oldest son David, and the youngest Gabriel. Her extended family are David and Mary Arthur (father and mother), Andrew, Cherie, and Avery Arthur (brother, sister-in-law, nephew). All loved her very much. Amy Canales, you will be missed greatly but we know you are with the Lord Jesus and now at peace. Luke 23:43 And he said to him, "Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise."
