Astrid Chase

Mrs. Astrid Chase "Droney", 76 of Canton, GA. passed away Saturday, February 16, 2019 at her home after a brief illness. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Hopewell Baptist Church with Rev. Ted Miller officiating. There will be a receptionist at the church following the service. Flowers can be sent to Hopewell Baptist Church after 12 pm on Thursday. Mrs. Chase was born September 4, 1942 at Fort Benning, GA to the late General Charles H. and Elizabeth H. Cummings Chase. Mrs. Chase was a graduate of Northwestern University. She was employed in banking following graduation. She was a homemaker and raised three children. Mrs. Chase was preceded in death by her parents and her son Bradley James Rickards. Survivors include her husband, Russell Earl Droney, Canton, GA; two daughters, Jacqueline Rickards, of North Carolina, Danielle Rickards Stephens, (Michael) Acworth, GA; stepson, Chance Droney, Canton, GA; grandchildren, Katelyn Rickards, Paris Rickards, Remington Rickards, Michael Reamer, Stephen Reamer, Andrew Reamer, Lydia Stephens, Sophia Stephens, and Chase Stephens; one brother, Frank Chase, Brandon, Mississippi; one sister, Arden Edwards, Sag Harbor, New York; Online condolence may be made at www.PooleFuneralHome.net
