Barbara Amerman

Barbara Frances (DeGraw) Amerman age 84 of Woodstock Georgia passed away May 10, 2019. Barbara was born and raised in Little Falls, New Jersey. She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Helen DeGraw. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her adoring children Pam, (Acworth, Ga), Glenn and wife Cheryl (Kalamazoo MI) and 3 grandchildren, Andrew, Kyle and Ryan. She was a graduate of 1952 of Passaic Valley High School in Little Falls, New Jersey. She was known affectionately by her classmates as "Bobbie". In her year book, The Valley Green, Bobbie was considered "Joyful and Smiling all of the Time." Her goal was to become a secretary. Barbara did achieve her goal to become a professional secretary. She retired from the City of Manchester Connecticut Fire Department. Barbara moved to Georgia with her daughter Pam and family in 1993 where she enjoyed her family and retirement. Barbara enjoyed bowling, playing piano, swimming, playing bridge. She was an avid reader and a very dedicated John Wayne fan. Most of all Barbara's favorite past time was enjoying her family. She was a kind and gentle soul always with a positive outlook. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the Cherokee County Humane Society, 5900 Bells Ferry Road, Acworth, GA 30102.
