Billy Ray Goodwin

Mr. Billy Ray Goodwin, age 69, of Taylorsville Georgia passed away at his home on Friday, February 19, 2021.Mr. Goodwin was born in Cartersville Georgia on February 11, 1952 to Lewis and Armeda Cannon Goodwin. Billy was a member of Taylorsville Baptist Church. He retired from the Bartow County Tax Assessor' Office and enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandchildren. Billy loved the creek, the outdoors, and history. He also enjoyed painting landscapes. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Edward Goodwin, a sister Carolyn Goodwin Woods, and his nephew Jerry Tidwell.Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Gail Harris Goodwin, son Matthew Ray Goodwin and fianc� Aelred Ann Leyva, daughter Julie Erin Goodwin, grandchildren Maddox Jackson, Blakeley Jackson, Tayli Ray Goodwin, Trevin Goodwin, Chauncey Bjorn Leyva all of Taylorsville Georgia, sisters Nell Tidwell and Mary Vance, both of Cartersville Georgia and brother Herbert Goodwin of Euharlee Georgia. The family extends a special thank you to the Amedisys Hospice Group for the care they provided. A private memorial service will be held at a later date with the Reverend Dave Stewart officiating.
