Carolyn Elizabeth Garner

Mrs. Carolyn Claxton Garner, of Woodstock, Georgia passed away at her residence following an extended illness. She was 90 years old. Funeral services will be at 12 noon on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Poole Funeral Home with Ministers Matt Amos and Brian Collins officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 11:45 am on Wednesday. Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Georgia National Cemetery. Mrs. Garner was born October 5, 1930 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Jimmy and Georgia Long Claxton. Mrs. Garner was a member of Woodstock Church of Christ for over 25 years. She was also instrumental in starting several churches around the metro Atlanta area. Carolyn owned Miz Carolyn's Antique shop on Woodward Avenue in downtown Atlanta. She later opened an antique shop in Lithonia, GA and an Antique Shop and Restaurant in Conyers, GA. She was a true giver and loved her family and church family. Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Floyd Garner, Woodstock, GA; two sons, Greg Garner (Susan), and Gary Garner; grandchildren, Whitney Hiers (Matt), Ashley Murphy (Drew), Zack Garner (Charlotte), and Lindsay Garner; great grandchildren, Isla Murphy, Fletcher Hiers, Emmy Murphy, Brooks Murphy, Mary Claxton Garner, and Hadley Garner; several nieces and nephews.
