Christopher B Benway

Chris Benway, 50, of Waleska, GA passed suddenly on July 29, 2021 of anaphylactic shock from a wasp sting. Chris was a devoted husband of 32 years to Jennifer and beloved father to Crystal and Austin and his new daughter-in-law Maggie. Chris is fondly remembered by family and friends as a selfless, funny, jokester, that always put others first and was first to help when needed. He loved to spend time with his wife floating on the lake, boating, golfing, and playing poker. He continued to give selflessly and save lives through organ donation and scientific research. He will be deeply missed. Chris grew up in Florida where he met his wife and began his family. They relocated in 2003 to Powder Springs, GA due to a work transfer. Chris was a construction Superintendent for 25 years, most recently with Rycon Construction, and loved to work with his hands. He often surprised Jenn with special gifts and projects that he created and frequently helped neighbors and friends with construction projects. Chris is survived by his wife, Jennifer Benway, Waleska, GA; daughter, Crystal Benway, Duluth, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Austin and Maggie Benway, Brookhaven, GA; mother, Karin, Oregon; father and mother Bruce and Kathy, Florida; sister, Tina, California; brother, Terry, California; sister Angela, Florida; sister Jenny, California; and many nieces and nephews.
