Mr. Christopher C. Spain of Canton, Georgia passed away Saturday, September 23, 2017 at his residence. He was 46. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Canton First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim McRae officiating. Visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m. Friday, September 29, 2017 at Poole Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to Pennies with Purpose an organization that provides hope and financial assistance to cancer patients undergoing therapy www.pennieswithpurpose.org or Homestead Hope Foundation that provides care for hospice patients www.homesteadhopefoundation.org Chris was born September 3, 1971 to C. Michael and Sheryl Scarborough Spain in Marietta, Georgia. Chris played baseball and basketball in high school and played basketball at Georgia College. Chris graduated from the University of Georgia in 1996. He worked for Baxter Healthcare for 15 years. He later became Vice President of Business Development at Vizient, Inc. at the peak of his career he was consistently a top performer and won many awards. He also coached youth basketball and Junior Woodstock Basketball for almost 15 years. Chris enjoyed playing tennis, riding bikes and playing golf as well. Chris enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at Lake Weiss. He was also a member of the Canton First United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife Jennifer Orr Spain, Canton, GA; one son, Mike Spain, Canton, GA; one daughter, Andie Spain, Canton, GA; his parents, C. Michael and Sheryl Spain; one brother, Todd Spain (Shannon), Newnan, GA; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Carol and Stan Orr, Tampa, FL; brother-in-law, Chip Orr (Terri), Tampa, FL; nieces, Danielle Orr and Lydia Spain; nephews, Alex Orr; Online condolence may be made at www.PooleFuneralHome.net
