Cynthia Ann "Cindy" Crowe Townsend was born on March 7, 1958 in Buffalo, New York to the late Ronald & Elizabeth Sporyz. She later relocated to Americus, Georgia at the age of 16. Cindy enjoyed traveling, cooking and above all spoiling and spending time with her grandchildren who affectionately knew her as "NANA." In 2014, Cindy relocated to Atlanta to be closer to her grandchildren. After a hard fought battle with cancer, Cindy passed away at home on Tuesday, September 29, 2020, with her family close by her side. Cindy leaves behind to cherish her memory; husband: Loren Townsend; three daughters: Michelle (David) Thigpen, Christina Crowe, Jenny Crowe; three step-children: Melinda (Charles) Stinson, Krystal Williams, Deon Williams; mother: Elizabeth Sporyz; four beloved grandchildren: Aden Crowe, David Justin Thigpen, Addison Crowe, Isabella Thigpen; one brother: Ronnie (Barbara) Sporyz; one sister: Debbie (Bill) Croft, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. It was Cindy's wish that memorial tributes be made in the form of charitable donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, in one of Cindy's most cherished places - the Great Smokey Mountains.
