Darryl Frankie Martin

Darryl Martin was born to Franklin and Lara (Sanders) Martin of Cumming, GA April13,1956. He passed away in peace on May 8, 2021.He is survived by wife Linda (Foresman) Martin, Daughter Christina Cozad (Tim) Grandsons Zachary Cozad , Colton Cozad. Mother Lara Jackson, Brother Lee Roy (Karen) Martin,Sister Mary (Steven)Cogliano, Sister Angela (Ed) Ivey. The numerous Nephews, Nices, Great Nephews and Great Niece. Darryl was preceded in death by Father, Franklin Martin and Son,Rick Drake.Darryl retired from Horizon Construction Company.Darryl and Linda were active members of Hickory Flat Church for 22 years serving in local and foreign missions. After serving on and leading HFUMC Mexico mission building project teams God inspired Darryl to learn how to drill for water to bring fresh clean water to the poor of Choluteca Honduras. We witnessed uneducated children carrying unclean water up hill to drink in old soda bottles. They also worked carrying water to help their father make mud bricks. The Way and the Truth Minstry rose out of the awareness that children were unable to attend school. Members of Hickory Flat sponsored a child providing funds to purchase required shoes, uniforms, books and supplies. Parents inspired by their children's reading went to evening night reading class led by Pastor Fidel. Education has transformed that community. Teens and adults are getting good paying jobs instead of picking fruit and making mud bricks. God used my Darryl to change the lives of hundreds of families in Mexico and Honduras.
