David Richard Bond

David Bond, aged 81, passed away on October 3, 2024 in Canton, Georgia. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

David was born on January 15, 1943, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, while his father was in the Army Air Corp during World II. Growing up, David excelled at all manner of sports, and went on to play football, basketball, and baseball throughout his high school career. He graduated from Boy’s Tech in Milwaukee, WI in 1961, and subsequently obtained advanced education at the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater, and Memphis State University.

In June of 1964, he married his high school sweetheart, Margaret (Peg), with whom he just celebrated 60 wonderful years of marriage this past June. The marriage brought forth two children, David S. (wife Kristi) and Nicole (husband Randy Casquejo). David was an active and involved father in his children’s lives, always making his family his first priority.

David started his career at Allis-Chalmers in West Allis, Wisconsin, moving on to Clark Oil, and then spending the next three decades in the waste management industry, working for such companies and Waste Management, Inc., and Laidlaw Waste Services. David’s storied career in the waste industry took him to many locales throughout the United States, and abroad, to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He loved hunting and fishing, and spent many years hunting in Montana with his closest friends and brothers-in-law, Casimir Carey and Stanley Carey.

In addition to leaving his wife and children, he will also be missed by his three grandchildren, Braden Casquejo, McKenna Casquejo, and Teagan Bond.

A private funeral service will be held for family and close friends at Due West United Methodist Church in Marietta, Georgia on Saturday, October 19, at 2 PM.
