David Childs

Mr. David Judson Childs of Canton, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018 at his home surround by his family, he was 80 years of age. Funeral services for Mr. Childs will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 18, 2018 in the Poole Funeral Home Chapel. Friends and family will meet at 2:00 p.m. at Arlington Memorial Park, 201 Mt. Vernon Highway N.W. Sandy Springs, GA for burial. The Family will receive friends Tuesday April 17, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Poole Funeral Home. David was born February 13, 1938 in Atlanta, GA, to the late James and Josie Tidwell Childs. Mr. Childs was the owner of DJC Contracting and David Childs Homebuilders. He loved traveling to the beach, and to Las Vegas where he greatly enjoyed the casinos. David liked gardening and grew great tomatoes and flowers. He had a passion for antique cars and working on them. Most of all he had a great love for his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Debbie, sister Elaine, and brother Jimmy. David is survived by his best friend and companion Mary Lou Friedly; daughters, Molly and Katie Childs; sons, Dickie, Danny, Bobby, and Keven Childs; grandchildren, Austin and MaCkenzie Childs, and Avaree Williamson, and Judson Childs; great granddaughter Amelia Childs; his ex-wife Leslie Childs; as well as a host of other family and friends.
