Dave Patterson: July 1, 1954 – October 10, 2021
Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
Dave Patterson dedicated his life to sharing the Gospel; he was never ashamed and never hesitated to share the Good News of Christ. His desire was to teach and share the Gospel with everyone his life touched. He believed if the soul was lost, all was lost.
Dave is survived by his wife of 46 years, Pam; his daughters, Amber and Heather; his grandson, Ethan; granddaughter, Catherine; his father, Edward R. Patterson; brother Keith and his wife Scarlett; sister, Karen Patterson; brother-in-law Gregg Sanford and his wife, Lori, and several nieces and nephews. While not actual family, Dave and Pam consider Chip Allen and the entire the JD’s family to be an integral part of the Patterson family.
During his life Dave had been a minister, an elder, and a deacon; he was a true servant of God. Dave loved teaching Bible classes and had taught all ages; however, most recently he devoted his teaching to the youth in his church.
Dave loved basketball and had even coached junior high basketball. He had also coached his daughters’ soccer teams. He loved to fish, when the girls were quite little, he began taking them fishing with him, creating wonderful memories of time shared with their dad.
Dave loved barbeque! He and Pam enjoyed many meals at JDs’. Not only did he enjoy the delicious BBQ meals, but more importantly, he used that time to share his love of God with all who would listen.
Dave loved music, and while he never professed to be a great singer, he and Pam loved listening to hymns.
On October 10, 2021, Dave heard Jesus’ voice, took His hand, and followed his Lord Home.
