Dolores Elaine Clyma, known to all as Doe, died peacefully the morning of October 22, 2021 in Canton, Georgia. Doe was born in 1935 to Elmer and Evelyn Clyma in Detroit, Michigan. She grew up, married and raised her family in Detroit. In 2002 Doe retired to Jasper, Georgia to be closer to her children and grandkids.
Dolores was predeceased by her parents; sisters, Marilyn Langrill and Grace Ralph; and husbands, Kenneth Rupkey and John Strainovici.
She is survived by her brother, Elmer Clyma; her children; Kendolyn and Craig Belt, John and Carrie Rupkey; Jay and Sue Strainovici; Pete and Leanne Strainovici; 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Due to COVID restrictions, a private family memorial is planned for a later date.
The family wishes to express great appreciation and heartfelt thanks to the staff and volunteers at Provident Village, Doe’s residence of the last 5 years. Our appreciation and thanks also extend to the staff and awesome healthcare workers at Amedisys Healthcare who assisted Doe in every way during the last 10 months.
