Donald W. McCord

Mr. Donald Wayne McCord age 78 of Acworth departed this life Wednesday March 4, 2020. Mr. McCord was born March 27, 1941 in Marks, Mississippi to his parents, Craig and Evelyn Brandon McCord. Mr. McCord served his country honorably in the United States Army. Don worked for Lockheed Martin and retired from there after 38 years of dedicated service. After retiring Don enjoyed playing Solitaire and Free Cell, also he owned 75 cars in his life and enjoyed spending time with his son building them, he enjoyed local trips with his daughter Donna to Sky Valley where they would look for UFO's. He is preceded in death by his parents, Craig and Evelyn Brandon McCord Don is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Louise Day McCord, children, Donna Louise McCord Spokes (Rick) and Scott Brandon McCord (Ashley), sisters, Loraine Joyner and Nancy McCord Waller (Joe), brother, Gary Brandon McCord, aunts, Sarah Dell Brandon and Corinne Brandon Richey, grandchildren, Brandon McCord ( Bridget) and Susannah Spokes (Taylor), nieces and nephews and a host of cousins also survive. Memorial services to honor the life of Donald "Don" McCord will be held March 28, 2020 at 3:00 PM from the Piedmont road Church of Christ. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM until the service hour.
