Jeanette (Dalton) Layton

Jeanette Layton passed away peacefully on Thursday January 5, 2023. The daughter of John Toy Dalton and Maudell Weldon Dalton. She was born in her grandparent’s home on their family farm in Cook County, GA, delivered by Dr. Smith, the same doctor who delivered her mother, Maudell in the same house. 

Jeanette is preceded in Heaven by parents, her brother Johnnie Dalton and her sister Jean Setters. She is  survived by her sister Joyce Walker, brother Jerry Michael Dalton, sister-in-law Charlene Dalton, and many adoring nieces and nephews.  

In recent years, Jeanette was very fond of bird watching and particularly enjoyed the visiting red birds. When not bird watching, she enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and her favorite shows. Always a joy to be around, her “angel smile” was as bright as her eyes and her wit. “She was joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer” (Romans 12:12).
