Elizabeth Ann Noriega, also known as Liz, passed away on November 24, 2023, at the age of 56 in Acworth, Georgia. She was born on June 2, 1967, in Dayton, Ohio, to Steve and Ann Gross. Liz was a vibrant, intelligent, and no-nonsense woman who dedicated her life to solving problems and educating others. She had a big heart and fiercely loved her family.
Liz is survived by her loving spouse, Tim Noriega, and their daughter, Elena Noriega. She is also survived by her parents, Steve and Ann Gross, her father-in-law Jose Noriega, and her mother-in-law Carol Noriega. Liz leaves behind her sister, Marci Noriega(Terry Noriega) and sister-in-law, Tena Bouton (DeWayne Bouton). She was a proud grandmother to Mia Carroll and Zoey Ingel and adored her niece Kaitlyn Laughlin and three nephews Jose, Jake and Jett Noriega.
Liz was preceded in death by her grandparents, Tom and Dorothy Walker, and Verne and Martha Gross. She was also preceded by her brother, Stephen Douglas Gross, her stepdaughter, Alycia Noriega, her cousin, Shawn Lewis, and her nephew, Matthew Meredith.
Liz attended Dayton Christian High School and later pursued higher education at Miami University and Wright State University, where she earned her BSN,RN,CCRN degrees. For the past 21 years, Liz worked as a registered nurse at Emory Medical University, demonstrating her dedication and dependability. Professional memberships were Sigma Theta Tau, National Honor Society of Nursing. Certifications AACN (America Association of Critical-care Nurses along with CCRN. Awards of Recognition Daisy award recipient and Employee of the month, EUH.
In her free time, Liz enjoyed riding horses, reading, going on nature walks, and watching Elena play sports. She loved traveling to the beach and spending time with her beloved dog, Moose.
A visitation will be held at Poole funeral home on December 1st from 5-7. Her funeral service to honor Liz's life will be held at Poole Funeral Home on December 2nd at 11 am located at 1970 Eagle Drive, Woodstock, GA 30189. Invited are her friends and family to pay their respects and celebrate Liz's life at the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions to the Elena Noriega College fund. Donations will be sent to the address of the funeral home, Poole Funeral Home, 1970 Eagle Drive, Woodstock, Georgia 30189.
