Ernest McKnight

Ernest Allen McKnight Beloved husband & father MCKNIGHT, Ernest Allen, age 50, resident of Woodstock, GA., formerly of Cedar Hill, TX., passed away Friday, April 21, 2017. He was a loving husband of 24 years and father of two. Ernest was born in Fort Worth, TX., November 23, 1966 and grew up in OK., graduating Del City High School prior to serving 5 years in the Armed Forces. This "Gentle Giant" was a Hand Grenade expert, Artilleryman, Howitzer gunner and M-16 Sharp Shooter, earning a National Defense Service Medal. He achieved his PMP & PGMP Certification and attended Pace University, working as a Sr. Project Mgr. and Professional Technical Project Mgr. Ernest was known not only for his ingenuity & leadership, but for being a great mentor & friend. Ernest created study charts published for PGMP training. Ernest is deeply missed by his wife, Tina, who describes him as caring, compassionate, accepting, cerebral, classy courageous, giving, patient and humorous. She hopes her "McKnight in Shining Armor" knew how much admiration, love and respect she and their boys feel for him, how amazing and extraordinary he is & how in love with him she still is after all these years. He had a way of making everyone feel listened to, understood, appreciated, unconditionally accepted, empowered and comforted. Ernest enjoyed gaming, camping, photography and bowling with his wife and sons. Preceded in death by his parents Earnest Sr. and Constance Mcknight, he is survived by his soulmate and wife of 24 years, Tina Peña-McKnight.; son, Rick A. McKnight; son, Kevin J. McKnight. sisters DeNece & Kathleen, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Memorial services will be held at Poole Funeral Home, 1970 Eagle Drive, May 21st, 1pm. Ernest was an O positive universal donor who donated as often as he was able. After being diagnosed with MCL, he required numerous blood and platelet transfusions. The final act of his courageous battle took place on American Red Cross Giving Day, so the McKnight family asks that in lieu of flowers or food, if friends wish, they may honor Ernest by donating to the American Red Cross. The McKnight family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful help and care given by friends and family.
