Fletcher Daniel Lewis formerly of Marietta GA, was born in Oil City, Pennsylvania on April 16,1949. As a baby, he moved with his mother to Florida, settling in Ocala where he attended Ocala High School. Fletcher was known as the ‘protector’ to his younger sisters; Mimi and Marcia. He also earned his Eagle Scout badge as a kid. He was a natural salesman, holding various sales jobs throughout Texas and the Southeast, until he ventured out on his own in 1990, starting his own successful businesses, Universal Industrial Products and Universal Hydrostatics in Paulding County, GA. Fletcher traveled the world with friends, including one of his favorite hot spots, Costa Rica where he decided to retire in 2012 to enjoy the ‘Pura Vida’ life. He truly loved the natural landscape and wildlife of Costa Rica as well as the local cuisine. His interests were golf, traveling, socializing with friends, riding motorcycles, and playing trivia at a local bar, where his team won just about every week. He was a long-time member of the American Legion Horace Orr Post 29 in Marietta for over 40 years. He leaves behind two daughters, four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, two nephews and his beloved siblings. He was larger than life in his opinions, spirit and passion for speaking the truth. Fletcher was a loyal and devoted father, brother, Grandpa, and friend to so many, and will be dearly missed here and abroad including his friends in Coco Guanacaste, Costa Rica.
Fletcher is preceded in death by John Lewis, DeLoris Jameson and Bob Jameson.
