GEORGE ALBERT BEYLOUNY

George Albert Beylouny, 88, of Woodstock, Georgia, formerly of State College, PA, died Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Tranquility of Kennesaw Mountain, a hospice care facility. Born on November 12, 1931, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late Max and Zakia (Dallal) Beylouny. His older brother, Louis E. Beylouny, of Delray Beach Fla. and South Glens Falls, N.Y. predeceased him in 2007. George was a proud graduate of Brooklyn Technical High School, considered one of the most prestigious and selective public high schools in the U.S., class of 1949. He later graduated from City College in New York in 1953 with a BBA, majoring in statistics, and completed graduate work in Statistics and Personnel at City College as well. He was schooled in Law at the Golden Gate College of Law and took courses in Management Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. In later years, George received his Executive MBA from Emory University in Atlanta. He was a Second Lieutenant, U.S. Army Infantry, serving overseas in Iceland during the Korean War as Platoon Leader. After his military service, George's career began at United Airlines in Quality Assurance. In 1960, he joined Sprague Electric as a Quality Control Engineer for the Minuteman Program and thereafter transitioned to manufacturing operations which became his long term career passion while reaching the level of General Manager, Ceramic Operations. In 1975, George joined Murata Corporation of America working there in various Senior Executive level positions, focusing on Georgia manufacturing growth. From 1982-1987, he worked at Intelligent Systems Corporation and Lanier Business Systems in Senior Executive manufacturing roles, including analyzing overseas manufacturing viability. George then returned to muRata Electronics North America, Inc. in 1988 and worked there serving in key Senior Executive Leadership manufacturing roles until retirement in 2003. Additionally, he did engage in various consulting assignments after retirement. Survivors include his wife, Jane (Fraser) Beylouny, his sister, Edna M. Hoffis of South Glens Falls, N.Y., his son, George K. Beylouny of Woodstock, and daughter, Joanne Schleier of Kennesaw, Jane's two daughters Randa Broughton of NYC, N.Y., and Heather Richards of Helena, Arkansas, 10 grand-children, and 4 great grand-children. A memorial service will precede interment of the cremains at Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Dr, Canton, GA, with military honors in the Spring at the convenience of the family.
