Howard Moore

George Howard Moore, 76, of Canton, GA entered into eternal rest on September 29, 2023, at his home. Howard was born on February 26, 1947, to Howard Augustus and Effie Busbee Moore in Columbia, South Carolina. He had two sisters, Carol Stevens who proceeded him in death and Susan Perrot who lives in Elgin, SC with her husband Gary.

Howard served in the United States Army and attended the University of South Carolina. He worked in sales for the duration of his career in Food Service at Quaker Oats, Shasta Beverage, Borden's, Golden Flake and ConArga Foods.

In 1981, Howard married Janice Mayberry. Howard and Jan were married 41 years and had one daughter Michele Williamson. Michele is married to Bryan Williamson, and they have three children Brock, Briley, and Braelyn Williamson.

He has been a member of Heritage Presbyterian Church for 36 years. He served on the session for three terms. Howard also enjoyed volunteering for the Jay Weaver Food Pantry and Santa's Caravan ministries.

During the years of retirement Howard enjoyed traveling with Jan, carving Santas, refinishing furniture, and hiking. He always enjoyed his garden, especially growing his tomatoes. Howard and Jan loved spending the holidays and summer vacations at Pawleys Island together with their daughter, son-n-law, and grandchildren.
