Mr. German M. Colina, of Marietta, Georgia passed away Friday, March 31, 2018 at Kennestone Hospital. He was 75. A Mass andChristian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday April 6, 2018 at Transfiguration Catholic Church with Father Juno Nelvy officiating. Burial will follow in Rolling Hills Cemetery at 3:30 p.m. with Poole Funeral Home & Cremation Service directing. Visitation will be held 5 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Poole Funeral Home & Cremation Service. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. Thursday night at the funeral home with a Deacon from Transfiguration Catholic Church presiding. A second visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home on Friday, April 6, 2018. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to Victory Academy http://victoryacademyga.org/ Mr. Colina was born May 12, 1942 in Santa Clara, Cuba to the late Manuel and Josefa Garcia Colina. Mr. Colina was a businessman, an entrepreneur, and self- taught General Contractor and carpenter. He enjoyed going fishing, playing dominoes, dancing and a good party. Mr. Colina loved to make people laugh and was a bit of a jokester. He was not one to dwell on the difficulties or suffering of life, but always faced life's challenges with courage and a positive spirit. He was intelligent, resourceful and extremely generous. Mr. Colina was always willing to give everyone he met a helping hand. He never met someone he did not like and made friends wherever he went. He is truly and deeply loved. Mr. Colina had recently celebrated 50 years of marriage to his sweetheart, Felicita. He had a romantic side only she knew, having written her lovely poems and letters. He was a devoted husband, uncle, devoted father, and grandfather. Mr. Colina was preceded in death by his parents, as well as a brother, Enrique Cortada. Survivors include his wife, Felicita Colina; three daughters, Jacqueline Pacheco (Alex), Angie Leyva (Rick), and Izaira Colina; one sister, Caridad Colina; four grandchildren, Victoria Pacheco, David Pacheco, Daniel Pacheco, and Anthony Leyva. Active pallbearers will be Miguel Rodriguez, Ricardo Leyva, Anthony Leyva, Alex Pacheco, Kevin Hew, Richard Henning, David Pacheco, and Daniel Pacheco.
