Hugh J. Patterson

Mr. Hugh J. Patterson, of Woodstock, Georgia passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Kennestone Hospital following an extended illness. He was 74. A Celebration of Life service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, August 29, 2021, at Hickory Flat United Methodist Church with Rev. Dave Benson officiating. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Circle of Friends, http://circleoffriendsinc.org Mr. Patterson was born December 22, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan to the late Woodrow and Birdie Castleberry Patterson. Mr. Patterson graduated from Wayne State University. Hugh worked for Detroit Edison, Ford Motor Company, Detroit Police Department and The DEA and CIA. Mr. Patterson later in life became a General Contractor and built several restaurants, hospitals, hotels, and more throughout the southeast. He also was VP of Construction at Hebel Construction. Mr. Patterson was a member and Trustee of the Hickory Flat United Methodist Church. Mr. Patterson was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Taylor Patterson, brothers, Stan and Mack Patterson, sister-, Vi Barker. Survivors include his wife, Sara Patterson, Woodstock, GA; daughters, Kim Odle (Rick), Angela Howerter (Will); sons, Mike Patterson (Maudessa Faulkner), Joe Croce (Melissa); grandchildren, Myles Odle, Alyssa Patterson, Alexis Odle, Mitchell Patterson, Cannon Croce, and Evelyn Odle; sister Jean Goss and many nieces, nephews and friends.
