James Dye
Passed in peace Monday July 19, 2021 at the age of 76. James was born to parents Dempsey and Gertrude Dye on March 30, 1945 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Loving father of Terri (Branden) Davis and Jennifer (Travis) Green. Grandfather of Brendan Oparnica, Chloe, Orion, TJ, and Alexander Green. Brother to Joe, Jack, Bessie, Betty Dye, and Gene Phoenix. Uncle to several nieces and nephews.
James joined the US Army and served his country during the Vietnam War. He went on to marry his former wife Patsy Neat welcoming two daughters, Terri and Jennifer. As a family they moved from Indiana to Florida where he worked until retiring.
James had a thirst for knowledge, enjoying reading, astrology, true crime, and much more. Since an early age he enjoyed watching and playing sports including basketball, boxing, wrestling, football, and baseball. James was a quiet man until you sat and spent time with him, he would share his knowledge and opinions about anything.
James moved to Georgia in 2005, where he spent his last years with his two daughters and five grandchildren.
James will be remembered by family and friends as a loving father, grandfather, and proud patriot and US Army veteran.
