Mr. James Hughes, "Papa", 56, of Cartersville, Georgia took his heavenly flight Tuesday afternoon, October 20th, 2020 in his home, surrounded by his loving wife, Sharon Hughes, and daughter Sherry London. Mr. Hughes was born in Birmingham, Alabama on January 30th, 1964 to his parents, JT and Doris Hughes. James was married to his surviving wife, Sharon Hughes for 18 years. Mr. Hughes lived his life fully, despite him being deaf his whole life. He attended and graduated from Marietta High School, a hearing school, where he also played football. He enjoyed staying on top of all football games, as he was a huge Alabama fan. Roll Tide! Despite his deafness, that didn't stop him from being full of life, jokes; yes always cracking jokes up with everyone, and socializing with others around him. He also worked a full time job at Stock Building Supply for over 15 years. He cared deeply for his pets, Cat: Toby, and Dog: Charlie. Charlie, his dog, stayed by his side as his service pet til the end. "Papa" enjoyed football, keeping up with all the sports on TV, especially AL, and he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren most of all. He enjoyed taking walks outside frequently and being in the sun, and also enjoyed throwing a football around with his grandchildren. Mr. James Hughes stated sometime before passing, "I know that I'm not perfect, but I believe in God." He was baptised in his home, by Pastor, John Orr, of "The Stone Church" on September 2nd, 2020. We all know that he is now healed, free, walking, hearing, Seeing, and smiling, worry free of this world, with our heavenly Father.
