Janet Poisson Olson 64, passed away peacefully at home in Woodstock surrounded by the love of her husband and family on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 after a long and courageous fight with brain cancer. Born Janet Cecile Poisson to Dorien and Verna Poisson on April 25, 1953 at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL. She grew up in Hialeah, FL graduating from Hialeah High School in 1971. After graduation she moved to Gainesville, FL attending Santa Fe Community college. She met her future husband, Richard Olson, and they later married at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Hialeah, FL on April 27, 1974. After graduating and receiving her diploma as a Cardiac Catherization Technician she and Richard moved to Columbus, GA where she worked in the Cardiac Catherization Lab at St. Francis Hospital. After a few years they grew homesick for Florida and moved to Ft. Myers where in January 1981 they were blessed with their first son, Aaron. Soon after they moved to Jupiter Farms, FL. Where twins, Matthew and Sarah were born in January 1983, and she was able to remain a stay at home mom for the next 15 years raising her family and rekindling her love for horses. She began her riding career through her own daughter's lessons, then owning and keeping horses at home. Her riding passion blossomed upon purchasing Maximus, her equine partner for 10 years. She found her greatest personal happiness while riding and became a very accomplished rider. As her children began to create their own families, giving her grandchildren, she loved to give the little ones riding lessons. Her happiest moments were when she was holding her grandchildren and leading them in the riding ring or galloping across the pastures on her horse. Janet is survived by her husband of 43 years Richard, sons; Aaron and wife Mollie of St. Louis, MO, Matthew and his fianc�e Jessica Parks of Ball Ground, GA, daughter; Sarah Cox and husband Sam of San Antonio, TX, grandchildren; Aaron "Ari" Olson Jr., Jacob Olson, Shelby Cox and Stella Cox, sister; Elaine and her husband Michael and their families of Nashville, TN. She will be greatly missed by all. The family will gather at Poole Funeral Home in Woodstock for visitation on Sunday, December 10, 2017 from 5 PM to 8 PM. Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church in Roswell, on Monday December 11, 2017 at 10:30 AM. With interment to follow at Rolling Hills Cemetery in Acworth.
