Jeffrey B. McMillan

On Thursday, November 11, 2021, Jeffrey Bruce McMillan, loving husband and father of three children, passed away at age 68.

Jeff was born on October 7, 1953 in Mount Vernon, Ohio to Roy Jackson McMillan and Eleanor Ruth McMillan. He received a degree in Pharmacy from the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio in 1977. He received his Masters in business administration from Rollins College in 1994. He was a pharmacist for 44 years.  He was a pharmacy manager at Albertsons in Altamonte Springs, Fla for 8 years. He was a pharmacy manager at Kroger in Woodstock, Ga for 21 years. He was a certified professional fly fishing instructor. On June 29, 1981, he married the love of his life, Vickie Ann McMillan. They raised two sons, Matt and Joel, and one daughter, Jessica. He has a daughter in law, Trisha, married to Matt and a son in law, Mark, married to Jessica. He has three sweet grandchildren that he loved and adored with all his heart; Harrison, Greyson, and Abbie. He was a best friend to his dogs Emma, Ellie and Brylee.

Jeff had a passion for music, his family, friends, guitars, Ohio State football, sports, his patients and coworkers, fly fishing, fly tying and being by the river. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit. He had a story to tell about everything that would make you laugh. He had a way of looking at life with such simplicity and calmness. He had a way of making every person feel special and important no matter what. He was the glue that kept the family together. He always remained cool as a cucumber and was the voice of reasoning. He was a guitarist, a fly fisherman, a pharmacist, Dr. Dolittle(all animals understood and loved him), avid animal lover and always mister fix it. He loved his Kroger work family dearly. He accepted everyone, never judged, never complained and was always there no matter what. If anyone ever needed him, he would be there at the drop of a hat to help. 

Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Roy, and his mother, Ruth. He is survived by his wife Vickie, his three children, Matt, Joel, and Jessica, his sisters Cathy and Cristie, and his brother Brian.

Visitation will be Friday, November 19, 2021 from 6-8 pm and the funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 1 o’clock p.m at the Poole Family Funeral Home in Woodstock, Ga. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for bird seed(the family has an account at wild birds unlimited) and deer feed to make sure Jeff’s sweet animal friends are always fed or donations may be sent to 1970 Eagle Watch Drive, Woodstock, Ga 30189.
