John Dunlap

Mr. John Akin Dunlap III, of Acworth, GA passed away Monday, February 26, 2018 at his residence. He was 71. A visitation will be held Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. at Poole Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Woodstock. Flowers will be accepted. Mr. Dunlap was born in Vicksburg, MS to the late John Akin Dunlap, Jr and Edna Earl Lanier Dunlap. John attended Gordon Military College in Barnesville, GA. Fishing was John's favorite past time and he loved fishing so much that he invented the Zoom Worm in his Marietta basement. John loved his family dearly and his extended family at his favorite local sports bar Brewster's. He also made the best "Homemade Dill Pickles." Mr. Dunlap worked several years at Little River Marina as a boat salesman. Survivors include his daughter, Angie Fouts (Ronald), Rydal, GA; son, Johnny Dunlap (Angie), Acworth, GA; his mother, Edna Earl Dunlap, Marietta, GA; one brother, Sidney Lanier Dunlap "Lanny", Acworth, GA; four grandchildren, Corey Fouts (Chandler), Madison Fincher (Joseph), Walker Dunlap, Amy Dunlap; also his faithful canine companion, "Sissy".
