Kenneth Payne

Mr. Kenneth Hubert Payne, of Kennesaw, Georgia passed away Friday, April 6, 2018 at Kennestone Hospital following a brief illness. He was 81. Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Woodstock Church of Christ with Minister Matt Amos officiating. Burial will follow in Georgia National Cemetery on Monday, April 16, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. with full military honors. Visitation will be held Friday, April 13, 2018 from 6-9 p.m. at Poole Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Woodstock. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516 Topeka, KS 66675-8516. Mr. Payne was born April 4, 1937 in Cartersville, Georgia to the late Harland and Ada Edwards Payne. Mr. Payne served his country by serving 30+ years in the Georgia Air National Guard. Mr. Payne was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Kenneth Ronald Payne in November 2016, and a brother Richard Payne. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Payne, Kennesaw, Georgia; two sons, Barry Payne (Ellen), Steve Payne (Heike), all of Woodstock, GA; one brother, Randall Payne, Cedartown, GA; three grandchildren, Brooke Payne, Christi Payne, and Carson Payne; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Carson Payne, Scott McCord, Brock Skramstad, Stan Kirk, Rod Carden, and Robert Harrell.
