Kenneth Richard Turner passed away to his heavenly home on January 31, 2017 in Canton, Georgia at the age of 80. He is survived by Mary Frances Turner, his wife of over 59 years, his daughters Lisa Bounds and Sheryl Turner, of Woodstock, Georgia, his son, Kenneth Turner II, of Marietta, Georgia, a son-in-law Benny Bounds and his grandchildren, Marianne Bounds of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Matthew Bounds of Greensboro, North Carolina and one sister, Eloise Markley of Lakeland, Florida. Kenneth was born September 7, 1936 in Montverde, Florida. He graduated from Manatee High School in Bradenton, Florida and attended the University of Florida in Gainesville. Kenneth also served in the Army, stationed in Germany. In 1966, he attended Lee College in Cleveland, Tennessee prior to beginning a career as a pastor in the Church of God denomination. He went on to minister for 36 years before retiring and moving to Georgia to be closer to his children and grandchildren. A funeral is scheduled for Friday, February 3, 2017 at Poole Funeral Home in Woodstock at 3 pm with the viewing beginning at 2 pm. Interment will be Monday, February 6, 2017 at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
