Laura Jane Turner, 82. Born February 19, 1939.
On November 27th of 2021, this world lost a great woman and the very best Grandmother. Most people referred to her as Grandmother, even if they were not related. But to others, she was known as simply, “Jane.” She spent most of her life with her soul mate and best friend, Jimmy Turner. One could find them playing cards, word games, telling jokes, putting together puzzles, or reading books at the dining room table. Jane and Jimmy were avid dog lovers and Georgia Bulldog Fans until the day they died. They never knew a stranger, and everyone was always welcome.
Jane had the ability to instill confidence and support everyone’s wildest dreams! She would move heaven and earth for her family. To be “one of hers” was a pure blessing. She shared her love for reading with the community while serving as the head Librarian at the Austell Library (or as she called it, the LIE-BREE). She embodied the values she lived by: honesty, perseverance, positivity, and friendship. Jane had many girlfriends and cousins that she enjoyed playing cards beside and traveling to the dog races with. To know her was to love her, and to love her was to know how it felt to be loved. Unconditionally, and without fault.
We will continue to hold her memory close to heart and to keep on re-telling all the funny stories that we cherish from our time on earth with her.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Jimmy Turner and her sons Michael Turner and Ray Turner. She is survived by her Grandchildren: Kelly McGough (Jamie), Steven Turner (Megan), Michael Turner Jr., Jake Turner (Marta), Katie Norris (Justin) and several Great-Grand Children which she adored.
