Louis Ray Adams “Lou” was born May 14, 1948, to Lodie Adams and Maggie Lurlene Simpson Adams in Ville Platte, Louisiana. Lou passed away after a brief illness on June 24, 2023, in Canton, Georgia. Lou was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Lodie Lynn Adams and his sister Marilyn Janet Adams. He is survived by his wife Anita Silk Adams, daughters Alycia Adams Spilberg and Heather Adams Pitts, his brother Cecil Ray Adams wife Cynthia Spain Adams, sister Lou Anne Adams Fuglaar, Sister-in-Law Connie Daigle Adams and Grandchildren Lauryn Melissa Shipp, Anderson Lee Shipp, Preston Whitney Pitts, Blair Elizabeth Pitts, Dane Alexander Spilberg, Connor Louis Spilberg, Kaitlyn Amber Spilberg and many nieces and nephews. Lou graduated from Jennings High School , Jennings, Louisiana and Northeast Louisiana University Pharmacy School in Monroe, Louisiana. After a 15-year career with Kmart Pharmacy Lou opened a generic drug sales company in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2002 Lou became a realtor and land developer. Lou developed subdivisions in Cherokee, Fulton and Gilmer Counties. Most recently Lou developed The Hemlocks and Greystone in Ellijay, Georgia. He was an avid LSU and Atlanta Braves fan and enjoyed playing golf with the Creepy Crawlers at White Path Golf Course. Lou will be remembered for his generosity and kindness to others. Lou was a big personality and was loved and respected by his family and friends.
A visitation will be held at Poole Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A private family service will be held at a later date.
