Michael Thomas Sargent

Mr. Michael Thomas Sargent, 74, of Canton, GA departed this life Saturday, October 30, 2021. Mr. Sargent was born in Miami, FL to his parents George Thomas and Margaret “Jeanne” McClellan Sargent. Mr. Sargent retired from IBM with over 25 years of service. Michael was an extremely humble man, honest and giving to a fault, who instilled into his family the highest level of integrity. Michael loved his family dearly and touched countless lives while here on Earth. He showed kindness to all who crossed his path and was the type of person who “never met a stranger.” His humor, conversations, love, and support will be missed by all who knew him. Mr. Sargent is preceded in death by his father, George Thomas Sargent, mother, Margaret “Jeanne” Redmon, and her husband Jack Redmon. Survivors include Children and their spouses Tim Sargent, Tom Sargent and wife Jenni, Michael Sargent and wife Deborah, Melissa Potts and husband David, and Madison Davis; Siblings Deborah McCurley and husband Steve, and Mark Redmon. Eleven beloved Grandchildren also survive: Emma, Tyler, Abigail, Jordan, Jade, Timmy, Faith, Shawmus, Jaytee, Saffire, and Thorin. A Mass of Christian burial will be Monday, November 8, 2021, at 11:30am at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church. Burial will follow the service at Macedonia Memorial Park in Canton. Visitation will be from 10:30am until 11:30am at St. Michael’s.
