Orville Marion "Chip" Brown, Jr., 76, died on October 17, 2024. He was lovingly nicknamed "Chip" by his father after a character in a comic strip, a name that stayed with him throughout his life. Chip served his country as a Sergeant in the Air Force specializing as a Weapons Mechanic and Armorer. His service earned him numerous awards, including the following:
National Defense Service Medal,
Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal,
Air Force Good Conduct Medal
A lifelong Falcons and UGA fan, Chip loved sports and his family. He leaves behind wife, Robin, and children: Brian (Heather), Danielle (Brian), Tyler, Josh (Kristin), and Misti (Tim). He is also survived by his siblings Kandy (Byron), Barry (Sherry), and Kevin (Shannon), along with ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Chip was preceded in death by his parents, Orville Marion Brown, Sr. and Lillian Aurelia “Sue” Brown, as well as his brother, Ricky Brown.
His family and friends will miss his generous spirit, quick wit, and unwavering love. As we grieve, we also celebrate a life well-lived and the many memories he leaves behind.
