Peggy LeRoy Davis passed away on June 15, 2024 at The Reserve at Towne Lake. Peggy was born March 25, 1934, in the mill town of Newry, South Carolina. In 1943, her family moved to Marietta, Georgia so her father could work at the Bell Bomber plant (later to be known as Lockheed). Peggy graduated from Marietta High School and Mercer University in Macon with a B.S. in Religious Music Education. She married Raymon Davis in 1957 and lived together happily for 67 years. She became the first full time paid music director at Roswell Street Baptist Church in Marietta. Later became music director at Noonday Baptist Church in Marietta. She left the music profession to work in the Cobb County School System as a paraprofessional aid for many years. She loved to sing sacred music and sitting on the porch of their Blue Ridge cabin watching nature all around.
Peggy was preceded in death by her infant son, Carl Alvin Davis; parents, Alvin H. LeRoy and Dora C. LeRoy; sister, Joyce L. Berry; brother, Jack LeRoy; and niece, Becky LeRoy.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Raymon Davis; children, Janet (John) Rodgers and Ray Davis, Jr.; brother, Julian (Janelle) LeRoy, and several nieces and nephews.
