Raymond Mauney

Mr. Raymond "Ray" Mauney of Acworth, Georgia passed away at Tranquility at Kennesaw Mountain on March 20,2018. He was 83 years old. The family will receive friends Saturday March 24, 2018 from 12PM to 2PM at Poole Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 2PM in the Poole Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Ric Cadle officiating. A reception will follow the service at the funeral home. Mr. Mauney was born on February 27,1935 in Blairsville, Georgia to the late William Roy and Willie Nicholson Mauney. Ray was retired as a sheet metal worker after thirty years with Local 85. He was a square dance caller for over forty years, a Mason, and an all-around "fix it man". Survivors include his wife Mary Lou of Acworth; daughter, Sharon O'Brien and husband Robert of Acworth; two sons, Alan Mauney and wife Vicki of Acworth, Craig Mauney and wife Rebecca of Marietta; grandchildren; Taylor Tweedle, Brice O'Brien, Michael Mauney, Kendal Mauney, Samantha Mauney, Stephanie Lamb, Katie Lamb, Madison Stoddard, and great grandchild Micah Pratt.
