Mr. Richard ("Dick") W Phillips, 90, of Woodstock, GA, died June 08, 2019, at Woodstock, GA.� He was surrounded by his family and passed peacefully to his place in Heaven.� Richard leaves behind his wife of almost 70 years, Stella Phillips.� Together they had 5 children (Karen, David, Dan, Jane and Steve), 12 grandchildren, and many adoring great-grandchildren.� His love for his family was equally matched by their love for him. Richard wore many different hats during his work-life, and moved with Stella to Georgia in 1980 to help manage Kelly's Ace Hardware in Marietta.� He retired in 1991, and found a new passion for woodworking.� His home now overflows with the wonderful carvings of his imaginations. But most of all, Richard loved God and his church. �He was a longtime and beloved parishioner of Transfiguration Catholic Church in Marietta.� His strong faith endured throughout his life, but never shone through quite so brightly as when he approached his death with unyielding faith in God. � A Funeral Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at Transfiguration Catholic Church with Father Fred Wendel officiating.� Burial will follow in Kennesaw Memorial Park with Poole Funeral Home directing.� Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2019 at Poole Funeral Home.
