Richard Leon Wright

May 3, 1967 — June 13, 2024

Richard Leon Wright, a beloved husband, father, son, and brother, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness that touched the lives of all who knew him. Born in Dalton, Georgia on May 3, 1967, Richard was the epitome of patience and love throughout his life.

Richard was the proud father of three daughters, Chloë, Charlize , and Gabriella. He cherished his role as a father above all else, and Richard's dedication to his daughters knew no bounds. Known for his softball coaching, Richard never missed any of his girls' games or Girl Scout events. His daughters will forever carry with them the lessons of love, dedication, and strength that he imparted upon them.

Marlene Ortiz-Wright, Richard's loving wife, was his rock and companion throughout their 32 year journey together. Their bond was one of unwavering support and deep love that served as an inspiration to all who knew them.

In addition to his immediate family, Richard is survived by his mother Nina Ratzel Wright, father Jerry Wright, and brother Michael Shawn Wright. Together, they mourn the loss of a truly exceptional man whose kindness and generosity knew no limits.

Richard's passion for cooking extended beyond the grill as he was known for cooking a mean pot roast that brought joy to the hearts and stomachs of those he loved. A devoted Bulldogs fan, Richard's enthusiasm for sports brought together friends and family in celebration and camaraderie.

Those who had the privilege of knowing Richard can attest to his gentle soul and caring nature. He was not only the kindest human you could ever meet but also a pillar of strength for his family and friends.

As we bid farewell to Richard Leon Wright, we take solace in the memories of his laughter, warmth, and unwavering love. His legacy will live on through the lives he touched so deeply. May he rest in peace knowing that he was truly loved and will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
