Rosemary Badgett, 83, of Canton, GA went to be with the Lord while in the hospital on May 25, 2024, with family and friends at her side.
Rosemary was born December 12, 1940, in Richmond, Indiana, to the late Mary Merle (Smith) Bright and the late Charles Russell Bright. She graduated from Mississippi College in 1962 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. She was an elementary school teacher in Richmond, IN until she married and became a Navy wife and then a mother. She and her family lived and served in numerous locations throughout the USA, including Hawaii. For several years she was a Litigation Support Manager, supporting the Departments of Justice and Labor in Washington, DC. A member of First Baptist Church, Woodstock, she loved to sing in several choirs and participate in Bible Studies. Other interests included community theater, reading and Mahjong, as well as group and home projects. Throughout her long life, God’s grace, mercy and peace sustained her and she was truly blessed as well as a blessing to others.
Survivors include her loving husband of sixty years, Robert (Sam); her daughter, Susanne Badgett of Mystic, CT; her son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Jennifer Badgett of Marietta, GA; her grandchildren, Sam, Clarke, Mary, Ada, Charlotte, and Henry; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sarah and Tom Clark of Noblesville, IN; and other relatives and loving friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Bright and sister-in-law, Ginny Bright, and her brother-in-law, Wally Badgett.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024, in the Chapel of Poole Funeral Home at 2:00 pm with Rev. John Hall and Rev. Shannon Salyer officiating. On Monday, June 10, 2024 at 1:30 pm an inurnment will take place at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. The family will receive friends at Poole Funeral Home on Thursday, June 6, 2024 from 12:00 pm until the service time.
