Roswell Davis Ison III (Dave), of Cumming, Georgia, transitioned to his heavenly home on March 11, 2019. Dave was born in Atlanta, Georgia on March 4, 1937. A proud Marine, he served honorably from 1956 to 1962. From there he went to work as Secretary of Ison Finance with his father, Roswell D. Ison, Jr. He then managed House of Shutters in Buckhead and purchased the company in 1990 merging it with Ison House Antiques in Crabapple, Georgia. His favorite hobby was playing golf and he was a natural in all aspects, even selling golf memberships for KIS Golf which earned him their top salesman National Sales Award. A gifted woodworker, he also enjoyed making golf clubs, volunteering at No Longer Bound, serving with Karen Nelson and Kairos prison ministries, Tres Dias Christian retreats, and was a missionary to Haiti. He served on the board of Lisa Ison Ministries and provided technical support for all of Lisa's musical performances across the country. Dave retired at age 79 after working as a Quality Service Inspector for DENTCO. He is survived by Lisa Ison, wife of 32 years; son, Roswell Davis Ison IV; daughters, Virginia Andersen and Diane Linville; sisters, Barbara Thome (Joe), Vicki Akin (Randy), Janice Haralson; grandchildren, Lindsey, Matt, Jessica, Davey, Liam, John Kelly, Madalene; great-grandson, Cooper and a host of nieces and nephews. Dave is preceded in death by his parents, Roswell & Virginia Ison and sister, Diane Coursey. A celebration of life service with military honors will be held On Saturday, March 16 at 2:00 PM at Poole Funeral Home, Woodstock, GA. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 PM. Reception will immediately follow the service. Rev. Karen Nelson and Rev. Charles Davis will be officiating.
