Royce C. Johnson

Royce Johnson, 95, of Ellijay, Ga., passed away on January 12, 2023, at Parkside Nursing Home. Royce was born on September 15, 1927 to Sam Johnson and Nettie Turner Johnson in Cooper, TX. After graduating from high school, he served in the US Army. Royce was a contractor by trade and owned his own business in Hesperia, Ca. He was married to his loving wife Rosetta Cost until her passing in 2016, they were married over 50 years. Royce enjoyed being outdoors. He loved going on hunting trips with his brothers Rick and Ronnie and his nephew Randy. In his later years he enjoyed spending time working in his flower garden and caring for his grandchildren Mark, Cassidy, and Callie. Royce was predeceased by his parents and wife Rosetta, his 3 sons Donald Ray Johnson, Terry Johnson, and Brad Wilcox, his daughter, Robyn Wilcox, grandson Travis, granddaughter Misty, his brother Rick Morgan, and 2 sisters Joyce Hicks and Linda Artega.  He is survived by his daughters, Rachael (Craig) Tabor of Ellijay, GA, Debbie (Dennis) Parker of Hurst, TX, sons, Darryl Johnson of Rio Rico, AZ, Greg Wilcox of Fitzgerald, GA, and his brother Ronnie (Jackie) Johnson of Hawthorne, CA. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Cassidy, Callie, Mark, Laney, Seth, Rhianna, Amanda, Kristen, Cody, Dominique, Mindy, Stephanie, Angel, Royce Ray, Brandon, Michael, Cristina, Jennifer, Dwayne, Melissa, Lana, Laci, and Kelly. He also leaves behind many great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Seville Baptist Church, in Seville, GA on Wednesday, January 18th, 2023 @ 1 p.m. Family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service. Reverend Joel Owens will officiate the service.
