Mrs. Stella M. Phillips, 90, formerly of Woodstock, GA, died December 16, 2020. Stella had resided in a memory care facility in Fishers, IN since earlier this year. She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 70 years, Richard (Dick) Phillips. Together they had 5 children (Karen, David, Dan, Jane and Steve), 11 grandchildren, and many adoring great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 sisters, Anne (Mrs. Ronald) Huseman and Sister (Racine Dominican) Mary Ann Pevas. She leaves all of us with many wonderful memories and life lessons we will cherish forever. Mom was always there for her family and friends, in good times and bad. She had a true heart of gold and was never too busy to help anyone in need. When it came to her family nothing stood in the way of her commitment. She was also a dedicated worker at many jobs over the years. In her last job as baker for Kennestone Hospital she gained notoriety for her hand-made biscuits (aka, "the biscuit lady"), even attracting folks from outside the hospital and earning a newspaper article when she retired. Her enduring marriage was an inspiration to many. One of the comforting thoughts the last few days has been that she is now reunited with the love of her life. Their reunion in Heaven had to have been the highlight for the day! Stella's love for God and her church (The Catholic Church of the Transfiguration of Marietta, GA) also defined her life. Her church family was precious to her. We offer prayers of thanks that her passing from this earth into God's hands was peaceful.
