Steve York, of Woodstock, Georgia passed away November 22, 2016. He was 57. Steve was born Aug. 18, 1959 to Ray and Hazel York. He was raised in Forest Park, where he began his career at United Parcel Service, when still in high school. He moved to Woodstock twenty-eight years ago after meeting his wife, Gina, while they were both working for UPS. They married and together raised twin sons, Cameron and Chad, now also working for UPS. Steve retired from UPS in Aug. 2015, after 35 years of service. Steve was especially happy when spending time with his boys, brothers, and friends, hunting, fishing, camping and swapping those tall tales about the one that got away. And excited to hear about the deer and fish that didn't. He was also looking forward to becoming a Granddad in the spring. Steve was preceeded in death by his father, Ray York. Survived by his wife, Gina; sons, Cameron and Chad, of Woodstock; mother, Hazel York of Hogansville; brothers, Greg(Cyndi) of Hogansville; Barry(Sue) of McDonough; Philip(Chong Hui) of Colorado Spgs.,Co.; mother/father-in-law, Ed/Ernestine Roberts of Bowersville; sister-in-laws, Gay Roberts(Randy Tatum) of Canton, Tina Hammond(Gene) of Palmetto, brother-in-law, John Roberts(Susie) of Bowersville, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Also survived by our inherited family: Sierra, Courtney, and Candie Ngkonchin; Elizabeth and Kylee; Barbara Hicks; and Paul Sherbet. A Celebration of Steve's life will be held Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Poole Funeral Home Chapel in Woodstock, Pastor Jerry Stewart officiating . The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the funeral home. There will be a family reception at the funeral home following the service.
