Thelma McConnell

Mrs. Thelma Faye McConnell, of Acworth, Georgia passed away at her residence on Sunday, July 15, 2018 following an extended illness. She was 87. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 20, 2018 at Poole Funeral Home at Woodstock with the Rev. Brad Dewberry officiating. Burial will follow in Rolling Hills Cemetery with Poole Funeral Home directing. Active Pallbearers will be Chuck Nygren, Ian Nygren, Inger Nygren, David McArthur, Evan Anderson, Michael McConnell. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. McConnell was born June 19, 1931 in Gastonia, North Carolina to the late Jewell Orin and Mary Lela Burch Twiggs. Mrs. McConnell was preceded in death by her husband Mr. Eschel "Shorty" McConnell on December 16, 2016, also three brothers, Frank Twiggs, Lloyd Twiggs, and Johnny Twiggs; one sister, Bobby Twiggs; and a son-in-law, Bill Plymale. Survivors include her son, Michael Neal McConnell (Sunny), Acworth; one daughter, Sharon Plymale, Acworth, GA; one brother, Randall Twiggs; five grandchildren, Michael Neal McConnell, Jr., Colyn Emil Creighton, Kelly Michaela Anderson, Sondra Niccole McArthur, Courtney Marie Roberts; 8 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
