Theodore (Ted) Paul Heberling, 82, of Woodstock, GA, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, October 20, 2024, in Woodstock, GA. Ted was born March 17, 1942, in Butler, PA, to Max and Eleanor (Butler) Heberling.
After graduating from Butler HS in 1960, Ted earned his Metallurgical Engineering degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1965. He began his career as a co-op with Armco in 1961, working for one year in Butler, then transferring to the International Division of Armco in Middletown, OH. Ted traveled the world extensively while working in Specialty Steel Sales, including living in Italy for 3 years and learning Italian! He retired from Armco, but continued his career for six more years in International Sales with Avesta-Sheffield in Illinois.
Ted later moved to Stoneybrook Golf & Country Club in Sarasota, FL, where he enjoyed playing his passion, golf, and lived for 23 years. Ted played an active role as a member of the board at Stoneybrook and was instrumental in many projects and improvements at the club. In 2015 he was honored as Member of the Year.
He leaves behind to forever cherish his memory his wife of 60 years, Patty (Tarcha) Heberling, his daughter Traci (Todd) Matthews of Austin, TX, his daughter Kristin (Jeff) Sickeler of Woodstock, GA, brother Tom (Nancy) Heberling of Ohio, sister Susan Heberling (Lamar Bliss) of NY, grandsons Tanner (Shannon) Guinther, Atlanta, Brennan (Savanah) Guinther, Woodstock, GA, Landon (Autumn) Guinther, NY, six great grandchildren, Ezekiel, Tritton, Asher, Remi, Canaan, and Selah, along with numerous nephews and a niece. Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Eleanor Heberling.
