It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Wanda Gail Ensley on November 14, 2024, at the age of 76. Wanda was born in Murphy, NC on August 30, 1948, the daughter of Wayne and Ruby Bettis Queen.
Wanda resided in Woodstock, GA for most of her life with the exception of living in Alabama and Texas for a short time. Her and Kenneth had a long and adventurous marriage. She was a loving and caring mother, wife, grandmother, and friend. She was a woman of faith and always put others first. She enjoyed the simple things in life. She was an easy-going person and always was laughing and having a good time. Her sense of humor was great. She was an amazing example as she was always there to listen, guide and support in every way possible.
Wanda enjoyed cooking and baking and having family meals where everyone could come and catch up. She also had a sweet tooth so there would always be cakes and sweets around to enjoy. She had many interests which included crafts, sewing, reading & quilting which those skills were handed down to her children. She loved eating out, traveling, shopping, and camping. Gone With the Wind and Andy Griffith were a favorite of hers and she claimed that she was all knowing about them. Ancestry was important to her as she would spend hours researching the family tree. But her biggest passion was being around and enjoying her family no matter if they were sitting there watching TV, eating dinner together or out and about. The fact that her children and grandchildren were there with her gave her satisfaction, peace, and total happiness.
Wanda’s legacy will live on and will always inspire and guide us. Her departure leaves an unfillable void in our lives, yet we find comfort in the memories and everlasting love she shared. Everyone who knew Wanda felt her love, big heart and giving nature.
Wanda is proceeded in death by her parents, Wayne and Ruby Queen; sisters, Dorothy Graves, Barbara Bandiora; brothers, Earl Queen & Kenneth Queen.
Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Kenneth Ensley; children, Tracy Michelle Ensley, Jeremy Shane Ensley and his wife, Whitney Ensley; brother, Daniel Queen; sister, Lucille Ford; grandchildren, Brayden and Dawson Ensley and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
