Willard Watson

Mr. Willard Lee Watson, of Woodstock, GA went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday morning, May 2, 2018 at Kennestone Hospital following a brief illness. He was 85. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Harvest Baptist Church 3460 Kellogg Creek Road with Rev. Larry Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Georgia National Cemetery with Full Military Honors at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2018. Visitation will be held 11:30 a.m. until service time at Harvest Baptist Church on Tuesday, May 8, 2018. Mr. Watson was born April 9, 1933 in Cambria, Pennsylvania to the late Homer W. and Cordilla A. Altimus Watson. Mr. Watson served his country by joining the United States Navy and retiring after 20 years of service. Will retired from the Navy as a Master Chief Petty Officer Grade 9 in 1967. He also then retired from Lockheed Martin as an Industrial Engineer in 1988. Mr. Watson was a Master Woodworker and made special gifts for his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Joyce Wingate Watson, Woodstock, GA; five sons, two daughters, 13 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, two sisters, and one brother; several nieces and nephews.
