William Daniel Patrick

June 19, 1949 — December 27, 2019

William Daniel Patrick was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and grew up in Cresson, a small mountain town in the Allegany mountains, and went to college and graduated from Pennsylvania State University. Bill served two years active duty in the Army receiving the National Defense Service Medal, and then transferred to the United States Air Reserve where he served 29 years more years. A proud veteran he was awarded the Quilt of Valor in 2019. Bill's working life had many facets. He worked for 30 years as a public servant for the Internal Revenue Service, until he retired to serve as a Lay Minister for the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church. Bill's volunteer work extended over his entire life serving as a Boy and Girl Scout leader, Head Elder in four different churches, hospital greeter, and Chaplin in two hospitals. Additionally, he served as a bible study teacher and on the Board of Directors of Stepping Stone Homeless Ministry, and as the Georgia Team Coordinator for the Lutheran Early Response Disaster Relief Organization. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William and Olive Patrick, and his infant brother, Edward. He is survived by his wife, Stephanie McGahee Patrick; three children, Sean Patrick, Lindsey Maurice, and Ryan Patrick; and five grandchildren. His memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, January 4th at 10:30 am at King of Kings Lutheran Church, 45 Appalachian Circle, Talking Rock, Georgia 30175. 706-301-9191.
