William E. Studebaker Sr. 1941-2020 Mr. William "Bill" Ernest Studebaker (Papa), of Woodstock, Georgia passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 3, 2020. He was 79 years old. Bill was born in Grove City, Pennsylvania to the late George and Ruth (Grine) Studebaker of Worth Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania. Mr. Studebaker proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was in several squadrons, VP-21 NAS Brunswick, ME; VP-56 Norfolk, VA; VP-56 Patuxent River, MD. Mr. Studebaker was a P-2 Plane Captain and P-3 Flight Engineer. After the Navy, he joined Lockheed Martin Corporation. Bill traveled the world from North America to Middle East, Europe, and Asia. One of his most memorable assignments was to Bandar Abbas, Iran. Where he made lasting friendships that he maintained throughout his life. As a Field Service Engineer Senior, he was awarded numerous commendations throughout his career with Lockheed Martin Corporation. One of his significant awards was the Propulsion Engineer, Senior Designation from the Hamilton Standard Propeller Division. After, retirement from Lockheed Martin Corporation, he had more time for his "honey to do list" and maintenance to his classic cars. Bill enjoyed attending the Studebaker Drivers Club, reading the "Turning Wheels magazine" and going to car shows. He also enjoyed watching car races and Steelers football. Bill was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Thamri "Audi" Studebaker and children; Sue "NitNoy" (Todd) Winhoven of Evans, Georgia and William "Billy" Ernest Studebaker Jr. (Idalia) of Acworth, Georgia, sisters; M. Kay Glenn and Sue (Nick) Passamonte, grandchildren; Makayla, William, Kale, Malea, and Mia. Many cousins, nieces, grandniece, grandnephew, a wonderful group of extended family and friends. Visitation will be Friday, December 11, 2020 from 5-9pm at the Poole Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Woodstock, Georgia. A memorial service will be on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 11am in the funeral home chapel with Paster Ted Lester and Paster Francis Noraday officiating. Bill will be greatly missed.
