William "Bill" Kolakowski, 90, of Woodstock, GA passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at Wellstar Tranquility at Kennesaw Mountain Marietta, GA. � Bill was born on May 29, 1929 in Pennsylvania to Boleslaw (William) and Stefania (Stella Alabovitz) Kolakowski.� He was the youngest of seven children.�� Bill served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War stationed on Newfoundland.� After leaving the Air Force he studied Engineering at the University of Bridgeport. Mr. Kolakowski was a skilled entrepreneur all of his life, starting with the purchase of Aladdin's dry cleaners in Darien, Connecticut.� He served as president of the Darien Chamber of Commerce and president of the Norwalk Ski Club.� He expanded his business to New Canaan when he opened Aladdin Interiors.� Bill began dabbling in real estate and rental properties when he closed the dry cleaners and leased, eventually selling, the building to Paul Newman and his business partner.� From the late 1980's until his death he built out and rented a small tract of rental properties near Austin, Texas.� There is nothing he wouldn't try or fix and enjoyed a life rich with hobbies. Bill is survived by his wife Bette; two daughters, Carabeth Cramer and husband Jeff, Kim Williams and husband Vince; grandchildren, Kimberly and Tad Cramer and George Williams; also a large extended family who will miss him greatly. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Poole Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. John Beyers officiating.� Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. in Georgia National Cemetery on Tuesday, July 30, 2019.� In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Wellstar Tranquility at Kennesaw Mountain, 475 Dickson Avenue, Marietta, GA 30060.
